Dressing for rain is always a challenge – in my head I am Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, decked out in a fabulous trench coat while still managing to look flawless in the pouring rain, when in reality, I am usually hiding under the hood of a fleece lined raincoat wearing giant boots while wrestling with my umbrella that has turned inside out for the fifth time. Oh, to be in a movie.
In an effort to be more like Holly, I purchased my first trench coat, a staple that I have long desired and yet never managed to add to my closet. Although the rain had (mostly) let up by the time I took these photos, I was still excited to style the jacket with one of my favorite pairs of jeans, and a cozy sweater.
Rainy or not, a trench coat is the perfect piece to have on hand as we head into spring, and light jackets slowly start to replace heavy winter coats. A good trench coat is such a timeless piece that can be styled and worn for years to come, and I can’t wait to share more on how I’m styling mine as we head into the warmer months.
Sadly my classic trench from Banana Republic Factory is currently out of stock, but below I’ve linked all my outfit details along with Banana Republic’s regular classic trench, and a few of my other favorites!
