Who else feels like Labor Day Weekend is the end of the season even though it’s technically still summer for a few more weeks? There’s just always this palpable change come September, and it’s hard to view it as the last leg of summer as opposed to the start of fall. I know I fall victim to this, even as someone who would be more than happy if summer never ended. I suppose a large part of it is the shorter days, which I still dread each and every year. With that said though, I’m trying my hardest to enjoy the rest of summer before jumping head first into fall.
One of my favorite things about transitional months in the Northeast is that you can really play around with layers. This week I was excited that I could finally throw on a cozy sweatshirt that I purchased a few weeks ago over a tee on one of the chillier days we had. I love boxy sweatshirts like this one from Abercrombie for just that reason; they’re loose enough to layer without having to worry about too many tight fitting fabrics all at once, and whether you’re wearing them with jeans or workout leggings, they’re effortlessly chic, and easy to throw on.
Below I’ve linked some of my other favorite boxy sweatshirts that are perfect for a cozy day at home or a casual afternoon out.
Outfit Details: Abercrombie Sweatshirt (Sold out; similar versions here and here), Levi Shorts (thrifted; similar here), Coach Backpack, Converse Dainty Chuck Allstars, Free People Scrunchies (similar), Sunglasses
